Angela Smoot Abel

Angela Smoot Abel is a graduate student, pursuing a Master’s degree in Communication at The University of Akron. Prior to coming to Akron, Angela attended Baldwin-Wallace College, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Broadcasting

As a contributor to Akron Women’s History Website, Angela spent time researching the contributions of Akron women during the Antebellum and Civil War eras. She is also responsible for publicity of the website.

Angela’s experience includes public relations, radio promotion and web design. She previously worked at a private university where she developed an interest in collegiate publications. She is currently working on a magazine prototype, catering to professionals in higher education, which she plans to sell for publication upon completion.

In her spare time, she serves as a public relations advisor for a social sorority. She enjoys traveling and interior design. Angela and her husband live in Ashland, Ohio.
