Penny Ashdown-Fox

Penny Ashdown-Fox is a non-traditional student at The University of Akron, who returned to college after a 23-year absence to raise her family. She majored in Communication-Mass Media with News as her focus. She graduated in May 2003.

The mother of seven, Fox is the owner of Fox Consulting, a for-profit venture specializing in helping small businesses become better organized. She is a past recipient of the John S. Knight Memorial Journalism Scholarship as well as numerous other scholarships.

A member of The Association of Women in Communications, Fox has served that organization as program director and president. She is also a member of the following organizations: National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Phi Alpha Theta, Alpha Sigma Lambda, Golden Key International Honor Society, and Omicron Delta Kappa.
