Casey Moore

Casey Moore is a senior News major in the School of Communication at The University of Akron.

Casey wants to be a sports writer. To prepare himself for that career, he works for the Beacon Journal, putting together that newspaper's agate pages and as a page designer for the Buchtelite, The University of Akron's student paper.

Casey was born in Akron, on Oct. 21, 1980. He is the only child of Patrick Moore, a disabled Vietnam War veteran, and Eileen Moore, a cardiology secretary.

Casey says he knew he wanted to be a writer ever since the fourth grade when he created his own weekly sports newspaper for his family. Soon after, Casey began to write short stories and plays for her friends in grade school and middle school. He decided to become a sports writer when he was a student at Akron North High School.

In his spare time Moore enjoys watching and playing sports (especially baseball and football), reading, writing, playing video games, listening to music and spending time with friends and family.
