Criteria for Evaluation

Assignments are perhaps the simplest aspect of this course.

As long as you complete the assignment and put forth an honest effort, you should earn full credit. Points will be deducted if:

you do not carefully read the question, which could cause you to give an answer that does not answer the question asked
grammatical, spelling, and/or punctuation errors make the assignment difficult to read or unclear
handwriting is illegible
wrote fewer than the required words (see assignment instructions)

To avoid such problems, keep the following in mind:

don’t rush; take your time
use complete sentences rather than fragments
look up spellings for words whenever possible
elaborate on ideas when necessary in order to be clear
make sure you answer the questions asked (probably the most common reason for missing points on any assignment)
