GROUP Presentations

Criteria for Evaluation

 

NOTE: YOU MUST SHOW UP AT THE DATE/TIME YOU HAVE SIGNED UP FOR YOUR PRESENTATION OR YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE CREDIT. IF AN EMERGENCY PREVENTS YOU FROM DOING SO, CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY.

 

1)     Written outline/summary (for professor only)*                      5 pts.

Outline/summary must include the names of all group members and explain the roles of each person; each group member must sign the outline/summary certifying that they agree that all group members carried out their respective jobs/roles. PowerPoint handouts can be used, but must include the above information.                                  

a.      must be type written  2 pts.

b.      at least 1 page in length  2 pts.

c.      clear and understandable (may be outline or summary form) and must reflect actual content of presentation– 6 pts.

 

2)     Adherence to time limitation (10-12 minutes total)*            5 pts.

 

3)     Clearness of Communication                                              10 pts.

a.      speech clear and loud enough for the entire class to hear  5 pts.

b.      use of proper grammar, clarity of speech  5 pts.

 

4)   Handout/Visual Aid   (for entire class)                                10 pts.

May use handouts and/or visual aids as appropriate. Examples of visual aides include diagrams, PowerPoint presentations, overhead transparencies, photographs/graphics, or maps. Examples of handouts includes brochures, bulleted/brief points related to your presentation, contact information, or list of references/resources. Your handout/visual aide must be:

                        a. informative

                        b. clear and concise

 

4)     Was the Presentation Informative?                                     15 pts.

Convey useful information about your service learning experience.

Try to anticipate class’ questions/Answer any questions from class

 

5) Coordination*                                                                                  5 pts.

The degree to which it is clear that the group members worked together well as a team and were clear about all of their respective roles. It must be obvious that each group member had an equal part in the presentation.

 

                         total possible points                           50 pts.

 

*All group members will receive the same points for these aspects of the presentation; all other criteria will be graded on an individual basis.
