·         All sections of paper are clearly organized and labeled

·         It is easy to find all required elements of paper (see instructions)

·         Format

o        Typed, Double spaced

o        1” margins  (no effort to make margins bigger using headers, large page numbering, etc.)

o        12 pt Font

10 pts.

 

 

Content and Readability

(evaluation section is weighted most heavily)

·         All project instructions were followed; the student made an effort to be responsible and helpful at the agenc(ies) to which he/she was assigned.

·         Main learning objectives clearly stated  and reflected upon in evaluation

·         At least one cultural theoretical perspective (i.e. Vygotsky, Bronfenbrenner, Super & Harkness, Whiting & Whiting, individualism/collectivism) is appropriately used to interpret cultural beliefs, interactions, or practices

·         All issues raised are thoroughly addressed (don’t bring something up if you’re not going to explain it)

·         Easy to read and understand (sentences shouldn’t go on for half a page; use direct, clear language)

·         References appropriately cited within the body of the paper, if applicable

·         Page limitation adhered to (8 page minimum) – 10 pts per page (5 pts per half page) will be deducted if your paper falls below the requirement for your project.

*Important: The proposal is a required part of the project. If the student fails to submit a proposal, then the student will receive a grade of zero (0) on both the proposal and the project. Papers that do not include a Service Learning Form that has been signed by a supervisor will also not be graded.

**Instructor reserves the right to deduct additional points for papers that contain excessive errors, particularly if such errors render the paper unreadable.
