Did you know that the United States ranks 140th out of 163 of the world's democracies in average voter turn out?  The U.S., ostensibly the world's greatest democracy, had a 44.9% voter turn out in the 1990s, while almost 75 countries had better than a 70% average turn out during this same time period. Embarrassing or alarming???
