Membership in the student chapter, UA SHRM and Speaker Series is available for a nominal fee of $5 per academic year. Student Chapter membership is open to all interested students at The University of Akron, regardless of major. 

Additional benefits are available through student membership and the resulting professional affiliation with the national (and local) chapters of SHRM and IHR.  In order to join these organizations, a student should review the student membership program information found on the national SHRM web site. This site provides an online application and payment process, as well as an option to download and print an application.  Printed applications and payment may be turned to an AU SHRM chapter officer or at an AU SHRM chapter meeting .  

Student dues are $35.00 for national SHRM membership or $55.00 for membership in both the national SHRM and the Institute for International Human Resources (IHR).  

The local chapter may collect additional local dues.  You will receive one full year of service beginning at the time your application is processed by the national office. 

Please allow 4-6 weeks to process your application and remember to keep your address current with the Society throughout the membership year.
