Reverend Dr. Alicia Malone
Rev. Dr. Alicia Malone is the founder and Executive Director of Bondage Breakers, Inc. a prison ministry dedicated to offering practical, spiritual, economic and educational assistance to ex-offenders and their families. Bondage Breakers, Inc. has several ministries, including a mentoring program, employment training and assistance, and an academic scholarship program for children of incarcerated parents. The organization is comprised of church volunteers throughout Summit County.
Malone received the Akron City Counsel Black Women’s History Award in 1996 and was recently awarded the 2007 Drum Major Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Award for the Grafton Correctional Institution sponsored by the Grafton Jaycees. Bondage Breakers, Inc. has also received several awards including The Harold K. Stubbs Humanitarian Award and the Leona C. Farris Caring Award. Malone is author of the book What God Can’t Do Can’t Be Done.
