Biography:
I was born and raised in Akron, Ohio. After attending Our Lady of the Elms for High School, I started my college career at Ohio University. I finished my undergraduate degree in Sociology: Corrections and Criminal Justice at the University of Akron in December 2005. I came to graduate school at Akron in the following fall semester in 2006 and received my Masters degree in December, 2007. I am currently working on my PhD in the Kent State University-University of Akron Joint PhD program and expect to finish in the spring of 2011. My research focuses on youth street gangs in the United States, racial inequalities, ethnic differences in processes leading to criminal behavior, and the decision-making process among criminal jurors. I am currently engaged in both quantitative and qualitative projects in order to continue developing my skills in multiple methods.
