Biography: I was raised in rural West Virginia where I attended Ripley High School. I then attended West Virginia University for my undergraduate degrees before moving to Akron, Ohio to pursue my masters in sociology. I am currently working with Drs. Feltey and Elman on their research about pioneer women’s experiences. I also hope to expand work on my undergraduate thesis about battered women’s help-seeking behaviors. When I’m not working on research or reading, I’m spending all of my time with my two toddlers.
