Biography:
Mary Weaver is a doctoral student who exhibits an interest in social constructivism and its influence in medical field. In particular, she enjoys researching and analyzing the disparities experienced by persons of low socioeconomic status and current social policy issues that influence medicine. Additionally, Mary would like to investigate how one’s community and family structures influence a person’s perception of medicine. By exploring the impact of race,, class, and other social constructs on these critical issues, she hopes to discover and aid in proactive disease prevention.
