Drones (4 MB MP3 - 4')
by Nikola Resanovic from "Drones and Nanorhythms" written for Solaris and released on their "American Quintets II" CD. Composer-in-residence at the University of Akron, Resanovic draws on his Balkan heritage to produce a unique and exciting sound for woodwind quintet.

For Felicia Montealegre (2 MB MP3 - 2')
from "Nine Anniversaries" by Leonard Bernstein, transcribed for woodwind quintet by George Pope. From Solaris'"American Quintets" CD released by Capstone Records in August of 2000. Originally for piano, Bernsteins "Anniversaries" celebrate the birthdays of his relations, friends and colleagues - in this case his wife Felicia Montealegre.

Arioso & Toccata (3.5 MB MP3 - 3.5')
from "Ancient Evenings & Distant Music" by Jack Gallagher, composer-in-residence at Wooster College, and also on Solaris'"American Quintets" CD, Capstone Records.

Movido (3 MB MP3 - 3')
from "Quintet for Woodwinds" by Brazilian composer Brenno Blauth. Written in the style of a "chorinho", a lively dance originating from Rio de Janeiro, this is the last movement of a quintet that explores a variety of Brazilian national styles.

Magnetic Rag (5.1 MB MP3)
By Scott Joplin, arranged by Lee Brooks, also appears on "American Quintets II." This wonderful rag is from a set of sixteen rags arranged for woodwind quintet and demonstrates the range and diversity of Joplin’s compositional skills.

Camptown Races (2.3 MB MP3)
From "Four Songs by Stephen Foster," arranged for quintet by Noel Stevens, and sung by baritone, Todd Ranney. Stevens has incorporated twentieth-century idioms into this arrangement, which add sparkle and zest to this well-known tune.
