Malcom J. Costa

President/CEO

Malcom J. Costa has served in the capacity of President/CEO of the Akron Community Summit Action, Inc. since 1977 where he manages 340 employees operting Head Start, SHARE, and to her community service programs. In 1983, Costa was oappointed trustee for 600 employees' health and welfare benefits; he was later elected chairman and administrator of the plan. In 1994, he was named director of Bank One, NA. He is also a member of the 1990 Class of Leadership Akron.

Akron Summit Community Action, Inc. is designated as the primer sponsor of the anti-poverty program in Summit County Ohio (Ohio Department of Development, County of Summit, City of Akron Designation). The major emphasis of the agency is operating Head Start Child Development services for over 3,000 children and their families. Another significant program, the Self Help and Resource (SHARE) provides a high quality food co-op program for 10,000 families each month throughout the state of Ohio.

Costa currently serves as the President of the Akron City Club; President of the Board, Akron Community Health Resources; Vice President, Great trail Council, Boy Scouts of America; Vice President, Summit County family and Children's First Council; Corporate Secretary, National Community Action Foundation.

Malcom and his wife Crystal Ann have five children.
