Nancy E. Jones

Ambassador of Cultural Outreach

 

 

Nancy E. Jones has represented Honda of America Mfg., Inc in the minority business arena for more than 10 years.  She began a career in the automotive industry more than 30 years ago.  During her employ, Nancy earned a Bachelors Degree in Business from Eastern Michigan University.  This degree was just the beginning.  She was faced with greater challenges and as a result was motivated to acquire a Master's Degree in Business from Central Michigan University to open the doors to competitive opportunities at still another level.

 

Nancy joined Honda in 1986, as part of their management team in purchasing to support increasing domestic content.  In 1989, she was faced with a challenge to establish Honda's SSSD Program (minority, female and disabled).  In 1997, Ms. Jones became a part of Corporate Communications focusing on Industry relations, Special Supplier Development and most recently is recognized as an Ambassador in Cultural Outreach.

 

Ms. Jones is a director on the board of the National Minority Supplier Development Council; the US Mexico Chamber of Commerce; the Women's Business Enterprise National Council;, the Michigan Women's Business Council/Center for Empowerment and Economic Development; Native American Business Alliance; American Indian Business Leaders; and the Northern Ohio Minority Business Council.  She is Vice Chair for South Central Ohio Minority Business Council.  Ms. Jones is on Advisory Board and/or Councils for the United Negro College Fund; the Minority Business Management Seminars; the Minority Business News USA and was recently named at the U.S. Department of Commerce to chair the 200 MED Week Emerging Business Leaders Youth Summit.

 

In 2000, Jones was presented Special Recognition and Exemplary Service Awards by the Governor of the State of Ohio, the Ohio Senate, and the Ohio House of Representatives.  In 1998, a youth program in the QuadCities was named the Nancy Jones Youth Leadership Symposium.  She has received numerous awards for her untiring effort, outreach and advocacy of minority business opportunities and education.  Additionally, Ms. Jones as corporate representative, adjunct professor, advisor and speaker-advocate plays a pivotal role in educating youth, minority businesses and the re-education of corporate entities.
