Current News of the Target Cities Research Project (a sort of Newsletter)

We are anticipating another meeting with CSAT team and sites representatives in Chevy Chase, MD from June 7 to June 9. We will talk about everyone's conference presentations based on Target Cities data, and the progress of data collection.

April 5, 1999: Again our congratulations to Dr. Shoba Nair on her return to work after maternal leave. Welcome back, Shoba!

On March 20 and 21, 1999, another Target Cities meeting was held in San Francisco, CA. Representatives of the sites, cross-site team and CSAT discussed project development and several issues.
Primary points of discussion were papers and presentations that Target Cities staff members are preparing basing on the project's data, and redesigning the 2b dataset. 2b data structure was reconstructed so that it reflects more closely what can be collected across sites.
Cross-site team group, which included Dr. Richard Stephens, Dr. Shoba Nair, Doug McGivern and Heather Huff, enjoyed a productive meeting with their colleagues. And everybody had a nice lunch :-)

!!! Congratulations from all of us to Dr. Shoba Nair on the birth of daughter Aparna (well, if we remember it right :-))) ! You can write her a congratulation note by clicking here.

On December 6-8, 1998, Target Cities Cross-Site evaluation meeting was held in Washington, DC. Cross-Site team delegation was led by Dr. Richard Stephens and included Shoba Nair, Doug McGivern, Sevy Petras and Anatoli Kouznetsov. At the meeting, proposed changes to the codebooks were discussed, data collection progress and data quality were evaluated, and presentations of Target Cities team members that are being prepared for several conferences, were reviewed.
