SEVEN MORE SIGN EARLY WITH ZIPS

 The University of Akron today announced seven more early letter-of-intent signees (five for men's and women's track
& field, two for golf). These student-athletes currently are seniors at their respective high schools and will enroll at UA
for fall semester, 2002.

David Howard, Canal Fulton, Ohio (Northwest) ... 2000 OHSAA Division II state runnerup in cross country, third in
2001 ... 2001 track & field state runnerup at 1600 meters ... selected to represent Ohio at the Mid-East Cross Country
Championships ... competed for coach Brian Armstrong ... anticipates sports medicine major. 

Katrina Jones, Martins Ferry, Ohio (HS) ... State meet qualifier in both track (1600 meters) and cross country in 2001
... relative newcomer to cross country ... competed for coach Joe Ellis ... contemplating mass media communications
major. 

Tim Myers, Liberty Center, Ohio (HS) ... Three-sport athlete at Liberty Center in Henry County ... quarterback of 12-1
football team ... OHSAA qualifier at 1600 meters ... will focus on cross country and track & field in college ... ran for
