MAC Indoor Championships

The true mark of a champion is the ability to respond to adverse circumstances. Overcoming a poor first day, the Akron middle distance/distance crew showed its character with a series of great performances on the final day of the MAC Indoor Track Championships. Bobbie Hardbarger set the tone for the day running an aggressive mile race. Despite entering the meet with the 9th seed time, Bobbie led the field through 1000 meters and held on for a 4th-place finish in a PR time of 4:58.45. Erin Frye and Todd Moyers continued the good racing in the 3000m. Erin recorded a 6-second improvement of her PR (10:40.58) the day after racing the 5000m, while Todd ran his second fastest 3000m ever (8:44.68, 1600 split - 4:33). Finally, Jennie Castle had the fastest split (57.9) on the women's 4x 400m relay and helped the team win its section and place 7th overall.
