MAC Championships

Bobbie Hardbarger made her final Mid-American Conference track & field championship a memorable one, winnning her first MAC title and scoring in two other events. In the 1500m, Bobbie controlled both her preliminary race on Friday, and the final on Saturday, leading every meter of each race. A group of three runners shadowed Bobbie throughout the final, but a 32.5 second last 200m left no doubt about the final outcome. Her finishing time of 4:26.96 was nearly two seconds ahead of second place. The victory capped an incredible season which saw her run the eight fastest 1500m times in Akron history and break the school record three times. Bobbie also placed second in the 800m (2:11.41) and eighth in the 5000m (17:29.96)
