Zalucka Qualifies for Nationals. Women's Team 12th.

At the Great Lakes Regional in West Lafayette, Indiana, Adriana Zalucka's eighth-place finish enabled her to join Judy Ervin and Michelle Rizzo as Akron's female cross country runners who qualified the the national championships. Zalucka helped the team to finish in 12th-place in the deep and competitive race. Morgan Sulzener (63rd) rebounded from a sub-par race at the MAC meet to place second for the Zips. Erin Frye followed closely behind in 67th, while Lisa McCaulley (81st) and Brandi Schoeppner (121st) rounded out the scoring.

Zalucka will compete Monday, November 25 in the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, IN. Both Ervin and Rizzo also ran their NCAA races in the state of Indiana, at the Indiana University Cross Country Course in Bloomington, and qualified from regional races contested in the Hoosier state. Ervin placed 76th in the 1992 championship and Rizzo was 38th in the 1999 championship.
