Zalucka Finishes 49th at Nationals

Adriana Zalucka capped off an impressive first season at the University of Akron by placing 49th at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in Terre Haute, Indiana. Adriana covered the 6km course in 20:48, bettering Bobbie Hardbarger's school best, set on the same course at last year's regional meet, by 38 seconds. After passing the mile in 5:24 and the two mile in 11:02, she continued to run strongly in the latter portions of the race, overtaking about 20 runners in the last 2km of the race. She finished 2nd among the MAC runners in the field and 6th among runners from the Great Lakes Region. Earlier in the season Ada placed 3rd in the MAC and 8th in the region.
