Akron Women All Ohio Champs

Individual victories by Beata Rudzinska, Morgan Sulzener, and Adriana Zalucka, plus scoring performances from Jennie Castle, Lisa McCaulley, Becki Michael, and Brandi Schoeppner helped propel the Akron women to the All Ohio championship. Rudzinska (800m, 2:08.36) and Zalucka (5,000m, 17:00.52) set new Malcolm Athletic Center records in winning their races. Sulzener (3,000m, 10:10.42) became the fastest freshman to run the women's 3,000m in Akron history. Not to be overlooked was the strong performance by Jennie Castle, whose 2:12.36 (PR, 2nd place) also broke the existing fieldhouse record in the 800m, and who contributed a 57.9 second split on the victorious 4x 400m relay. The men's distance medley relay of David Pykare, Matt Cleveland, Jeff Swartzel, and Adam Bray placed fourth.
