Jennie Castle Breaks Akron 800m Record

Competing in her first indoor race of the season, Jennie Castle gave a hint of things to look for this year, winning the 800m race and setting a new school record in the process. Her time of 2:13.25 bettered the 2:13.90 run by Jen Moore in 2000. Jennie easily handled a quality field putting 3.76 seconds between herself and second place in the final 400m. Jennie completed her day with a 57.6 second split in the 4x 400m relay.

Lisa McCaulley (10:22.73) and Morgan Sulzener (10:22.75) placed second and third in the 3000m, but were the top two collegiate runners. Their performances are roughly equivalent to an 11:04 3200m.
