Rudzinska Breaks School Record in the 800m. Named Athlete of the Meet and MAC Athlete of the Week.

Beata Rudzinska's Akron debut at the Central Collegiate Championships was a memorable one. She won the 800m in a school record and NCAA provisional qualifying time of 2:08.85. She also contributed a 55.5-second split on the victorious 4x 400m relay. Her efforts did not go unnoticed as she garnered Female Athlete of the Meet and MAC Athlete of the Week honors for her efforts. On the 4x 400m relay Beata was joined by Jennie Castle, Emily Freudenrich, and Lucretia Corbin to improve Akron's season best by over 10 seconds. The men's distance medley related contributed points to the men's team's 3rd-place finish. David Pykare ran the lead off 1200m leg. He was followed by James Baisden on the 400m, Jeff Swartzel on the 800m and Tim Myers on the 1600m. Finally, Lisa McCaulley dropped down to the mile and scored points by placing 7th in a personal best time of 5:08.62.
