Rudzinska Runs 2:04.42 and Qualifies for Nationals Beata Rudzinska ran 2:04.42 in the finals of the NCAA Mideast Regional Championships to place fifth and automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships. Beata's time was a personal best and broke her school record set at the Drake Relays earlier this year. Her time would have placed her no worse than second in the finals of the other three regions. She enters the NCAA Championships seeded eighth. Joining her on the trip to Sacramento is Adriana Zalucka. Her 34:30.25 clocking at the Penn Relays earned her the 21st seed in a field of 27 runners. Also competing succesfully at the regional meet was the 4x 400m relay team of Deanna Caldwell (56.9), Rudzinska (55.7), Jennie Castle (56.0), and Lucretia Corbin (55.6) that ran 3:44.41. The foursome also broke the school record. They entered the meet with the 17th-fastest time and wound up placing 9th. They were one of two schools to run faster than their seed time in the blustery conditions on Saturday night.
