Rudzinska & Sulzener Win All Ohio Titles

Between the two of them Beata Rudzinska and Morgan Sulzener have won six All Ohio individual championships in their two years as members of the Akron Track & Field program. At this year's All Ohio championship Rudzinska captured her signature event, the 800m, while Sulzener repeated as the 10,000m champion. Rudzinska has won the 800m in the last two All Ohio indoor championships and was also a member of this year's victorious distance medley relay team indoors. Sulzener, the Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium record holder in the 10,000m run from her victory in last year's All Ohio meet, also won the 3,000m title in the 2003 indoor championship.

Other notable results were Becki Michael's double -- a fifth-place finish in the 3,000m steeplechase and winning her section of the 1,500m, good for eighth place, Brandi Schoeppner's runner-up placing to Sulzener in her 10,000m debut, Jennie Castle's scoring race in the 800m, Chris Perun's 6th-place finish in the 5,000m, and Jeff Swartzel's 1:56.44 personal best in the 800m.
