Men Capture All Ohio Title, Women Place Third

The Akron men won their first-ever All Ohio track & field champship scoring 185 points to top runner-up Findlay (118.5), and third-place Ohio (109.5). David Pykare ran 4:17.27 to finish second in the mile. David Howard placed third in the 3,000m (8:52.11), and Nathan Ollish earned fourth place in the 800m (2:00.84).

The women, who placed third as a team, were led by Beata Rudzinska, who took the 800m running 2:08.72 and ran the opening 1200m leg of the distance medley relay in 3:26. Rachel Zubricky placed second in the 800m (2:16.15) and anchored the victorious distance medley relay team. Brandi Schoeppner ran a PR in the 3000m, 10:09.28, to finish second and Morgan Sulzener placed third in the 5000m (18:13.85).
