Zips Run Well at PSU and KSU

A small group of distance runners from Akron travelled to Pennsylvania to compete in the Penn State National Indoor meet against teams from across the east. Three of those runners were rewarded with indoor personal bests. Brandi Schoeppner lowered her PR to 17:47.71 in the women's 5,000m. She placed fourth in her section and tenth overall. David Howard, running the 3,000m recorded an 8:37.21 clocking, an 8-second improvement over his lifetime best. Rachel Zubricky won her section the 800m with a time of 2:16.61, her best ever indoors.

Another group competed at the Doug Raymond Invitational hosted by Kent State. Again, there were numerous fine performances. David Pykare (1:57.17) and Adam Bray (2:00.37) ran well in the 800m. Scott Mate PRed in mile (4:27.78), as did Chris Perun in the 3000m (8:47.18). Also in the women's 3,000m Becki Michael placed third in a PR time of 10:34.54.
