Rudzinska Named Outstanding Performer at MAC Championships

Beata Rudzinska on a 2:05.87, 4:21.11 double victory was named the female Outstanding Performer at the MAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Oxford, OH. Beata led a 1-3-4 Akron finish in the 800m, with Jennie Castle (2:08.23) and Emily Freudenrich (2:09.27) running regional qualifying times. Morgan Sulzener scored in the 10,000m (3rd, 37:19.06) and the 5,000m (6th, 17:05.94). Also scoring were Becki Michael in the 3000m steeplechase (7th, 11:12.18) and Brandi Schoeppner in the 5,000m (8th, 17:12.40). Over the course of the meet the Akron women's distance crew recorded 8 personal best performances, 5 regional qualifying marks, and scored 46 points to help the team to a third-place finish.

David Howard recorded personal bests in the 1,500m (3:58.97) and 5,000m (14:56.86) to lead the men.
