Zips Prepare for MAC Championships

The Akron cross country teams compete this Saturday in the Mid-American Conference cross country championships at Mayfair Country Club in Akron. Last year the women placed 5th in the MAC and the men finished 10th. Both of last year's top individual finishers, Adriana Zalucka (3rd) and David Howard (22nd) return to lead the Zips this year. Morgan Sulzener, Jennie Castle, Brandi Schoeppner, Katrina Jones, Becki Michael, Rachel Zubricky, and Jackie Fejes will join Adriana competing in the women's race. Racing for the men will be David Pykare, Chris Perun, Adam Bray, Scott Mate, Nathan Ollish, and Andrew Adam.

Akron has won one MAC championship, in 1999. Michelle Rizzo captured the the individual title that year.
