November 3, 2004 Howard & Rudzinska Lead Zips On a course made sloppy by heavy rains, David Howard raced to a 10th-place finish to lead the Akron men to sixth place in the MAC Cross Country Championships, their highest-ever placing. Howard becomes only the second Akron male to earn All-MAC honors joining Nate Norris, who finished seventh in the 1995 meet. David Pykare (21st), Scott Mate (32nd), Jeff Swartzel (41st) and Chris Perun (44th) completed the Zips' top five. For the first time the women put two runners on the All-MAC first team. Beata Rudzinska (3rd) and Jennie Castle (6th), both All-MAC 800m runners on the track, added cross country honors to their resumes. Morgan Sulzener duplicated her 8th-place finish from 2003 to earn her second recognition on the All-MAC second team. Brandi Schoeppner (44th) and Rachel Zubricky (45th) also contributed to the team's third-place finish. Beata Rudzinska & Jennie Castle
