Zips Have Great Day at PSU:
2:07.03, 4:53.80, 9:41.20

Akron travelled to State College, Pennsylvania to compete in the Sykes Sabock Challenge Cup at Penn State University. Each of the middle distance/distance runners came back with a new personal best time, starting with Rachel Zubricky in the women's mile. Her time of 4:53.80 knocked almost four seconds off her previous best and enabled her to finish 3rd. In the women's 800m Jennie Castle continued her undefeated season running 2:07.03 to hold off All American Morgan Uceny of Cornell. Emily Freudenrich won her section in 2:13.78 and placed 6th overall while Jenny Richardson ran 2:16.74. Finally Brandi Schoeppner and Morgan Sulzener went 1-2 in the 3000m. Schoeppner broke her own school record recording a time of 9:41.20 and Sulzener cut 8 seconds off her PR with her 9:51.46 performance. Both defeated Penn State All American Molly Landreth.
