Five PR at Zips Open

Five Zips ran lifetime bests and Jennie Castle broke her own fieldhouse record in the 800m as the Akron women tuned up for next week's MAC Championships at the Zips Open.

In the mile, Becki Michael (5:01.04 PR) and Morgan Sulzener (5:01.59 PR) swept the top two places, with Michael earning her first collegiate victory and Sulzener cutting almost 5 seconds off her personal best.

In an all-Akron 800m, Jennie Castle ran 2:08.14 to continue her undefeated season. She was named MAC Female Runner of the Week for her performance. Castle was followed by Beata Rudzinska, who ran 2:10.10 in her season debut. Those two helped the next trio of runners to indoor PR's: Emily Freudenrich (2:13.65), Rachel Zubricky (2:14.38) and Brandi Schoeppner (2:15.39). After two seasons Akron remains undefeated in 800m races in the fieldhouse.
