Castle & Schoeppner Capture Akron Open Titles

Brandi Schoeppner and Jennie Castle easily won their events at the Akron Open. Schoeppner ran 16:53.48 to break her own fieldhouse record with a 20+ second cushion over second place, while Castle ran 2:09.91 (67.6/62.3) to post a 2-second win. Schoeppner and Castle both remain undefeated in their primary events in the Akron athletics fieldhouse. Schoeppner has now set four fieldhouse records, including the current 3000m record (9:46.11) and Castle has the four fastest women's 800's run in the fieldhouse.

In the women's 3000m Becki Michael (10:18.23) and Holly Sumser (11:01.64) recorded lifetime bests.
