Beata Rudzinska joined Bobbie Hardbarger (2001) as Akron's only individual female All Ohio champions and helped the team to its first-ever All Ohio Championship. All five scoring runners placed in the top 30. Earning All Ohio honors along with Rudzinska were Brandi Schoeppner (6th) and Morgan Sulzener (13th). Both are three-time All Ohio cross country honorees. Rachel Zubricky placed 23rd, a 61-place improvement over her performance in the the 2004 meet. Adriana Zalucka, running in her first cross country race since placing 3rd in the 2003 MAC Championship race, finished 28th. The Zips were well behind at the mile, with Sulzener running in ~40th place and Zubricky and Zalucka in ~100th place. Though still trailing Ohio State at the two mile (54-73 in the Division I only scoring), the Zips were surging and reversed the two teams positions by the end of the race (55-62 in the Division I scoring).
