Zips Capture Falcon Invitational
The Akron women won their second meet of the season by placing first at the Falcon Invitational hosted by Bowling Green State University. Leading the way for the Zips was freshman Sediah Erskine who placed 2nd running 17:58. Senior Rachel Zubricky had her best race of the season posting an 18:27, good for 8th. Freshman Heidi Gross was 12th in 18:34 and sophomore Colleen Moran was 16th in 18:42. Gina DiAntonio ran 19:10 as Akron's 5th runner and took 29th-place.
In the team scoring Akron (67) held off conference rival Ball State (100) and IPFW (102) for the victory. Also competing were conference rivals Bowling Green, Kent State and Eastern Michigan. Akron is back in action Oct. 20 at the Kent State Short Course Classic.
