Zips Three-peat as MAC Indoor Champions

For the third consecutive year the Akron women's track & field team was crowned Mid-American Conference champions by scoring an overwhelming 136 points. Runner-up Western Michigan (112) was the only other school to top 100 points. A dominating 21-point performance in the mile, led by the 1-2-6 finish of Rachel Zubricky (4:53.98), Larisa Arcip (4:54.89) and Sediah Erskine (4:59.66) set the tone for the Zips. The coup de grace was applied in the 3000m with Colleen Moran's unexpected victory in a personal best time of 9:53.66. In the middle distance and distance events Akron scored 46 points, more than any other school in those events. Boding well for the future, 36 of those points were scored by first-year runners.
