Adriana Zalucka capped off a tremendous season by
finishing 49th, out of a field of 255 runners, at the NCAA
Cross Country Championships. Adriana was the second
MAC placer. More

Zalucka Going to Nationals
By finishing eighth in Saturday's Great Lakes Regional
Championship Adriana Zalucka earned a trip to
Terre Haute, Indiana to compete in the NCAA Cross
Country Championships. Zalucka joins Judy Ervin (1992)
and Michelle Rizzo (1999) as women to represent the
University of Akron at the Division I cross country national
championship. The women's championship race will be held
on Monday, November 25 at noon.

Outdoor Track Renovations
Newly installed hammer cage
Lee
Jackson Outdoor Track and Field Complex is getting a facelift.
Construction completion should end in the middle of September
2002. Below are the changes occurring to the facility.
- The
entire track and filed event runways are being resurfaced.
- Two
new javelin areas.
- New
high jump apron.
- New
hammer cage and pad (pictured above).

of pole vault boxes and landing area.
