Zips at USATF Indoor Championships and at Notre Dame

 

Sophomore Michelle Rizzo's performance in the 5000 at Notre Dame highlighted the weekend for the Zips as five athletes went to USATF Indoor Championships in Atlanta and as four went to Notre Dame. On Friday night, March 3rd, at Notre Dame Rizzo won the talented packed 5000 in a provisional and school record time of 16:47.14. While in Atlanta on the same night Christi Smith took fifth in the long jump at 6.03 (19'9"). Smith was the third among collegiate competitors. On Friday as well, Jasmine Reynolds took ninth at 24.02 in the 200 for a new school record.
