The University of Akron Throwers competed at the Central Collegiate Championships this past weekend. Meet highlight included a 1-2 finish in the men's weight throw by Greg Corbitt (61' 5") and Dustin Shaffer (57' 11"). Greg was also second in the shot put. He had 4 throws over his old school record culminating with a best of (55' 9 3/4"). Walter Levert also contributed by placing 6th in the shot with a pr of (50' 4 3/4"). For the women Jenna strouse continued to improve in the weight setting a new pr of (45' 6").
