Senior Captain Greg Corbitt exploded on the National Scene in the shot with a throw of 58' 10 1/4". The mark was an NCAA provisional distance, a new school record, a 3' improvement on his personal reecord, was the winning throw and is the number one throw in the MAC. Greg also finished third in the 35# weight throw with a season best and MAC leading mark of 62' 9".
Junior Dustin Shaffer (below left) and Sophomore Walter Levert (below right) also competed exceptionally well for the Zips. Dustin finished 5th in the 35# weight with a throw of 60' 6 1/2". He is currently ranked secon in the MAC. Walter finished 8th in the shot with a pr of 50' 10 3/4". He is cuurently ranked 10th in the MAC.
Sophomore Lindsay Feiten finished 10th in the weight with a pr of 48' 5 1/2"
Greg Corbitt and Dustin Shaffer will be competing at Indiana University this weekend (2/7/03) with hope of improving upon or establishing national qualifying standards. The rest of the Zips will be training hard for the upcomming All-Ohio Championship 2/15/03.
