Notes

1. Bring a photo ID.  You will not be able to check in or fly without one.

2. Pack your uniform and spikes in your carry-on luggage.

3. Dress appropriately for both of the flights (collar shirt for the men, “nice” for the women).  Also, wear Akron attire when we are at the course Fri and Sat.

4. Bring a water bottle and stay hydrated.

5. This is a one-night trip, pack lightly.

8:45 am              Departure from JAR.

10:42 am            Depart from Akron Canton Airport on AirTran Airways Flight 205.

12:20 pm EDT   Arrive at Atlanta Hartsfield Airport.

3:00 pm CDT     Arrive at Days Inn (1014 Anand St., Opelika, AL 36801, 334/749-5080).

3:45 pm              Depart for Indian Pines Golf Course to preview course.

6:00 pm              Dinner (details TBA).

9:00 pm              Team meeting in coaches’ room.

Saturday, October 19, 2002

6:30 am              Departure for course.

8:00 am              Men’s 8km race.

9:00 am              Women’s 5km race.

Noon                  Check out of hotel.

1:00 pm CDT     Depart for Atlanta.

5:40 pm EDT     Depart from Hartsfield Airport on AirTran Airways Flight 202.

7:20 pm              Arrive at Akron Canton Airport.

8:30 pm              Return to JAR.

Goals for this meet:

1. Appreciate and take advantage of this opportunity.

2. 14 great individual performances (7 women < 19:00; 7 men under 27:30).

               The course, competition, and weather will all contribute to fast times.

               Avoid trouble the first 1km.

               Be in a position to compete the last 50% of the race.

               No one passes Akron in the last 300m.

3. Compete well as a team – tight team spread (1-5 or 2-5).
