I was pleased with our performance this week and at this meet.  Despite a rigorous week of training
we had four individuals run cross country lifetime bests and Ada ran a season-best time.  I know that
we haven't raced fresh for the past two weeks, so you can't yet see how fast you are capable of
running, but you will race much better when you are rested.  The past two weeks, with the tough, hilly
course at All Ohio and the fast first kilometer at WMU have prepared us very well for our championship
races.  Congratulations to Jennie, Brandi, Katrina, and Rachel for their PRs and to Jackie for
breaking 20:00.

Get Out! A
Run Fast A
MAC attitude A
Excellent job of racing aggressively and establishing good racing postion at 1000 meters. We definitely carried our
aggressive nature throughout the first half of the race. If you look at the 4000 meter split you will notice a 16 second
second gap between the first 5 runners. If you project an 8 kilo time from those splits we would have 5 guys under
26:10. So obviously we slowed down over the second half of the race BUT the important thing is that you have now
experienced what a fast aggressive 8 kilometer race feels like. Your bodies and minds now know what it feels like to get out
fast and the next time you will be able to handle it even better. If we are to compete at the MAC level we must always
have this same attitude. This was by far the best team effort of the season. And we will only run better on November 1st.
Howard showed that all the training in September is still in his system. Pykare was consistent as usual. Bray and Mate
showed that they are capable of running under 26:30. Perun showed true fortitude by cranking out a gutsy last 1k after
struggling for the middle portion of the race. Nate-Dog continued his huge improvement and is ready to roll under 28 at MAC.
Andrew had a rough one but we all do at some point in a season. There are more races to look forward to. Let's be ready to
roll on Monday and Friday this week. The rest of the time will be spent running easy and resting up.
