It is disappointing to lose.  It is even more disappointing to not learn from the loss.  Our early season meets are supposed
to be learning experiences and if we learn from this meet we will look back on it more favorably.  I will leave  it to each of you
to honestly, yet critically, evaluate your preparation for and performance in this meet.  I further hope this will inspire us to bring
more enthusiasm and energy to our practices.  In the meantime, we should take some consolation in our knowledge that most
of us are fundamentally fit and we will only get better as the season progresses.
We should also be excited to recognize the positive accomplishments:  Brandi's second-place finish and her 13-second
"improvement" from last year's Tommy Evans race;  Becki running better than last year; and Rachel, Gina, and Emily running
very well in their first Tommy Evans Invitational (and for GD and EF their first collegiate cross country races).
