10/9/01 Bobbie Hardbarger and Todd Moyers

Senior, Bobbie Hardbarger, and Freshman, Todd Moyers were named this week's "Athletes of the Week" after their performances at the traditional All-Ohio Championships October 5. Hardbarger dominated the event running 17:58 on a tough course and 5 seconds ahead of the competition. Todd Moyers ran a gutsy race, for a freshman, aggressively staying close to the leaders for most of the race. He ran 26:51. This was Moyers 4th time receiving this honor. This was the third time for Hardbarger.

10/02/01 Jennie Castle and Todd Moyers

Freshmen Todd Moyers and JenieCastle were named this week's male and female athletes of the week after their performances in Auburn Alabama on September 29. Both of them ran personal records and improved significantly over previous week's performance. This was the third time Mopers has achieved this honor.

9/26/01 Michelle Rizzo and Jake Magier

After their improved performances at the Spartan Invitational at Michigan State University, Michelle Rizzo (sr) and Jake Magier (jr) were named this week's "Athletes of the Week."

Both Rizzo and Magier made significant improvements from their performances two weeks earlier at the Tom Evans Invite. Rizzo brought her time down from 20:05 to 19:16. Rizzo, a former MAC Cross Country Champion has suffered some difficult injuries, but Friday proved she is tough and ready to make a big come back.

9/14/01 Bobbie Hardbarger and Todd Moyers

Bobbie Hardbarger and Todd Moyers were named, for the second week in a row, Akron Track/CC "Athletes of the Week" after their performances at the Tom Evans Invite. Hardbarger dominated the women's competition running 17:57 for the 5k race. Freshman, Moyers was the lead Zip male running 9th for the four mile course.

Bobbie Hardbarger (Sr) and Todd Moyers (Jr) are the first two "Athletes of the Week" for the the new 2001/2002 school year. At the Ashland Cross Country Relays Hardbarger, teaming up with freshman, Jennie Castle, smashed the relay course record and split time record. Hardbarger averaged 8:45 for each of the three one and a half mile sections. The previous best splits were 9:05.

Freshman, Todd Moyers put on an impressive display for his first collegiate competition leading the Zip men with an average of 8:12 for four, one and a half mile sections.
