Rudzinska
Breaks Another School Record
For
the third consecutive week Beata Rudzinska (left) has broken a school
record. At the Doug Raymond Invitational she dropped down in distance
to the 400m and ran a 56.14 breaking Lisa Clark's school record from
2001. It was a good day for 400m running. Joining Rudzinska with fast
times were Deanna Caldwell, who ran 57.74 seconds, and James Baisden,
who recorded an indoor PR with a 49.33 clocking. In the 60m Tamala Perryman
lowered her season's best time down to 7.80 seconds. Jamie Goodwin also
recorded an all-time best in the 60m with his time of 6.94. Finally
Zip hurdlers ran well with Jon Morgan (8.40) and Morris Ellington (8.45)
earning lifetime bests.
While
the runners and jumpers competed at Kent, throwers Greg Corbitt and
Dustin Shaffer travelled to Bloomington, Indiana to compete in the Indiana
Invitational. Corbitt threw the shot 57' 2 ¼", his second-best
effort ever. In the 35-pound weight throw he threw 60' 6 ¾",
while Shaffer threw 58' 5 ¾".
