Sprint Medley Breaks School Record at Texas Relays
The
sprint medley relay team of Tamala Perryman, Lucretia Corbin, Jennie Castle,
and Beata Rudzinska broke the school record, set last year, by running
3:54.92 at the Texas Relays Friday night. After an opening 49-second 400m
from the 200m duo of Perryman and Corbin, Jennie Castle split 56.1 for
the 400m leg and Rudzinska ran the anchor in 2:08.5. More action at the
Texas Relays continues today with school record holder Kira Sims in the
women's pole vault and All-American John Russell in the men's pole vault.

Sims
Breaks MAC Record in Pole Vault
In
her first outdoor competition of the year Kira Sims broke the all-time
MAC record in the women's pole vault with a jump of 13' 4.25" at
the Florida Relays. Sims placed second in the competition behind the NCAA
Indoor champion, Lacy Janson, of Florida State. Liz Mangen threw 155'
3" to narrowly miss breaking the school record in the discus. Dustin
Shaffer placed 7th in the men's invitational discus with a throw of 158'
2". Morgan Sulzener (17:29.53) and Lisa McCaulley (17:32.65) both
ran personal best times in the 5,000m. Sulzener placed 5th (3rd collegiate
runner) and McCaulley 8th (6th collegian).
