Rudzinska, Sulzener, Zalucka —
All Ohio Champions

It did not come as a surprise that Beata Rudzinska and Adriana Zalucka won their races at the All Ohio Championships. Rudzinska entered the meet with the fastest time and led the 800m race from the gun to set a fieldhouse record with her time of 2:08.36, and Zalucka, despite running her first race of the season, was still a pre-race favorite in the 5000m run based on her cross country exploits last fall. She too crossed the finish line with a fieldhouse record, 17:00.52. Sulzener, who entered the women's 3000m seeded 6th, took the lead after 1200m and used a 35-second last 200m to defeat the mile champion, Dayton's Tara Storage. Sulzener's time, 10:10.42 is an Akron freshman record.
