Rudzinska Breaks School Record in the 800m. Named CCC Athlete of the Meet.

Beata Rudzinska made her Akron debut an impressive one, winning the 800m in school record and NCAA provisional-qualifying time, and being named the female athlete of the meet. The record she broke was set two weeks ago by Jennie Castle. She also contributed a 55.5 split on the victorious 4x 400m relay. Jennie Castle led off the relay with a 58.8 leg and handed off to Rudzinska with the lead. Rudzinska opened up a sizable gap and Emily Freudenrich and Lucretia Corbin maintained the lead to the finish line. In the women's mile, Lisa McCaulley ran a personal best time of 5:08.62 to place 7th.

The men's distance medley relay team of David Pykare (1200m), James Baisden (400m), Jeff Swartzel (800m), and Tim Myers (1600m) finished 7th and contributed scoring to the men's team's 3rd-place finish.
