Zips Kick Off Indoor Season at Golden Flash Gala
A sizeable portion of the Akron middle distance and distance group got an early start to the indoor season at the Golden Flash Gala. In Friday's 5000m races freshmen made impressive debuts with Chris Perun running 15:51 in the men's race and Morgan Sulzener (18:12) and Lisa McCaulley (18:13) running impressively in the women's race. On Saturday Becki Michael (5:15) and David Pykare (4:29) had top 10 finishes in the mile. In the 800m Jeff Swartzel won his section in 2:00.78 and Emily Freudenrich just missed her PR running 2:19.
